Hop on your broomsticks and get ready to play an exciting game of Quidditch™ Pinball, the newest model in the Ugears Harry Potter™ collection. This working pinball game is based on the fictional wizarding game of Quidditch™ from the beloved series of Harry Potter books and movies, where players fly around an aerial arena while trying to throw or hit the Quaffle™ through three rings on their opponents' side of the field, scoring ten points each time they do. Any team catching the Golden Snitch™ scores 150 points and wins the game.

The DIY Ugears Quidditch™ Pinball model is a visually-stunning stadium, comprising a playing field made of cardboard printed with decorative elements, 8 elevated viewing platforms engraved with the logos of the four houses of Hogwarts™ (Gryffindor™, Hufflepuff™, Ravenclaw™ and Slytherin™), functional scoreboard, a chest for storing the Golden Snitch™ and three Quaffle™ balls, and functional pinball game elements including flippers, bumpers, targets and obstacles.

Prepare your Ugears Quidditch™ Pinball game by first making sure the model is assembled correctly and all moving parts work properly. Place the model on a flat surface then retrieve the yellow ball (Snitch™) from the chest and place it on its reserved spot on the left rail. Insert the three red balls (Quaffles™) into the hole on the left front of the model. Raise the three targets in the center of the field by pressing on the two bumpers and the launch ramp immediately behind the targets. Twist the dial on the back of the scoreboard to set it to three zeros and you're ready to play!

To play the game, press in the "New Game" sign on the front of the model, sending the three Quaffles™ toward the trigger. Press down the ball lift lever on the front right to raise the first Quaffle into the ready position, then pull the side trigger back and release sharply, launching the ball onto the playing field. Place your hands on the flipper buttons located on the left and right sides of the game, pressing these to keep each ball in play for as long as you can. Knock down the three targets to create a clear path to the rings, defended by a toggling Keeper (Ron Weasley) and two Beaters (the Weasley twins—Fred and George). Each time a Quaffle™ passes through a ring on the far side of the field you score ten points (press the button on the top right of the scoreboard to keep a running tally of points) and the Quaffle™ returns to be sent back into play. Defend your own three rings by not letting the Quaffles™ get past your flippers, or they'll drop out of play. Once all three Quaffles™ have dropped through your own rings the game is over.

The greatest challenge of the game, and the surest way to win, is to catch the Snitch. This can be done by sending a Quaffle™ up onto the rails, by launching it off the inclined center ramp (the ramp raises into position once the center target is hit). If a Quaffle™ lands on the right rail it will be conducted back into play, while a Quaffle™ landing on the left rail will ride down until it releases the Snitch into the waiting arms of Harry Potter™. Congratulations, you have won! Press the button on the top left of the scoreboard to raise a banner awarding 150 points and proclaiming your victory!

NASA's Saturn V rocket holds records as the tallest, most powerful, and heaviest payload launch vehicle ever built, and is the only rocket to have carried humans beyond low Earth orbit. There were thirteen successful missions using Saturn V rockets: the twelve Apollo missions and the launch of Skylab (the United States' first space station) into low Earth orbit. The Saturn V stood 363 feet (110.64 m) tall (taller than the Statue of Liberty), was 33 feet (10.06 m) in diameter, weighed 6.5 million pounds (2.95 million kg) when fully fueled, and had three separate stages that fired sequentially and separated in flight. The Space Shuttle Discovery was the third of five reusable NASA orbiters, logging 39 launches and landings between 1984 and 2011—the most flights of any spacecraft in history. Perhaps its greatest accomplishment was the April 25, 1990 deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope ("HST") which revolutionized astronomy and astrophysics, particularly our understanding of the age and expansion of the universe. With characteristics of a rocket (for vertical launch) and a glider aircraft (for landings), space shuttles were the workhorses of America's space program at the turn of the 21st Century, and were critical to the construction and maintenance of the ISS (International Space Station).

Now you can build this iconic orbiter and imagine yourself a participant in its signature mission to further the work of exploration and scientific discovery in launching the Hubble telescope. Ugears' NASA Space Shuttle Discovery model is actually a remarkable three-in-one: orbiter, stand and satellite. The Shuttle is a 1:96 scale model of Discovery, with two cargo bays that open to reveal the HST model, which features movable solar panels and aperture door. The Shuttle's front and rear bays open independently, for storing or launching the telescope. To open the front cargo bay, turn the wheel near the cabin in the direction of the arrow marked "Open." A similar wheel on the tail section opens and closes the rear cargo bay. Place the telescope on the Shuttle's robotic arm for deployment, and spin the arm using a dial located on the belly of the orbiter.

The Shuttle's stand employs tensegrity (tensional integrity or floating compression), an elegant structural engineering design that allows the model to hover above the stand on thin fishing lines, as if floating free in space. A ratchet mechanism on the stand allows you to adjust the tension of the lines. You can change the pitch of the spacecraft up and down by hand, simply by pulling on the tension lines, or adjust the roll of the spacecraft left and right either by moving the stand by hand or using the stand's ratchet dial. Other functional elements of the Shuttle model include movable ailerons on the orbiter's wings, movable tail rudder, and retractable landing gear.

The clock features an adjustable weighted pendulum which interacts with the escape wheel through the steady tick-tock of the anchor mechanism. You can adjust the clock's ticking action to the second, by sliding the pendulum's top and bottom weights. The reducer also transmits rotation to an hour disc and a minute disc. One of the interesting features of our Aero Clock is that time is not read with rotating hands on a clock face, but rather a fixed pointer indicates time on the slowly-rotating, numbered hour and minute discs. Moreover, these discs rotate counterclockwise—did you know that before standardization, some clocks moved clockwise while others moved counterclockwise? In the role of "cuckoo” the Ugears Aero Clock features a model hot air balloon. The suspended balloon rapidly descends when the hour strikes, then slowly rises again over the course of the next hour.

The Ugears wooden model clock kit celebrates the role of clocks in exploration. Did you know the problem of calculating longitude, critical to accurate navigation at sea, was solved with a clock? The idea was proposed by Dutch mathematician Gemma Frisius in 1530, but it wasn't until the mid-18th century when English clockmaker John Harrison developed a series of shipboard clocks so precise (accurate to within a ? of a second per day) that ship captains could at last calculate their position at sea to within a few nautical miles. By knowing the exact time back in London (Greenwich Meridian Time, or GMT), and calculating the time at current position with celestial observation, navigators could calculate where they were on the earth's surface. The secret book is easily found by the homeowner, but nearly impossible to find for the crook. In "The Matrix," Neo hides computer discs and cash inside a book, and who can forget the prison breakout in "Shawshank Redemption," accomplished using a rock hammer concealed in a Bible, the pages cut out starting at "Exodus." Everyone loves puzzles and riddles and this Secret Book from Ugears is just that—a big riddle with a series of puzzles that must be solved to open the secret compartment and see what's inside!

You can set any three-digit combination you want on your Ugears Book of Secrets by removing the pin block inside the secret compartment. Turn the dials to the combination you want and reinsert the pin block. The key release mechanism will now work with the combination you have set. When you press the lever under the bottom of the book's spine the key will pop out of its slot at the top of the spine. The lever will not eject the key if the three tumblers are set to any other number sequence. You can reset the three-digit combination any time you like by following the same sequence—open the 3D wooden box, remove the pin block, reset the combination, reinsert the pin block, and the key release mechanism is now set to the new combination.

Did you forget the combination? Oh no, now what? Don't worry, our designers and engineers have you covered. There are two different ways to access the contents of the box without the combination. You can open the Book of Secrets by simply prising off the back panel— insert a flat tool like a screwdriver or metal ruler into the slot between the back panel and the box, then gently jimmy the panel in several places to lift and remove the panel, giving you access to the box. You can also play safe cracker, discovering the combination through touch. Press the key release lever with your finger, holding it in with slight pressure, then rotate each tumbler sequentially. You'll feel that the correct number on each tumbler turns slightly tighter than the others, and that the lever slightly shifts under your finger as the correct number clicks into place. When the last drum is set to the correct number the indicator on the spine changes from closed to open—the key release is now engaged.

This outstanding model is a Ugears look at the classic merry-go-round implemented in top-quality wood, the familiar and beloved fairground ride is presented with highly-detailed design. Here you will find two types of carousel horses that rock up and down as the model spins. The core of the model is a center pole that rotates in a direction opposite to the main platform making it look as if the carousel spins faster than it really does and creates the fascinating dynamics of the whole construction. The pole rises over the roof making it visually more delicate and at the same time giving it more volume. Add little birds soaring over the roof of the carousel along with decorative flying lanterns and you may just sense the aroma of hot dogs and cotton candy!

As for the technical aspects, the Ugears Carousel is based on the same principle as most Ugears self-propelled models: all parts of the puzzle are joined without glue or additional tools and the motion energy is provided by a rubber band motor. The Carousel has a wind-up key under its base that provides tension to the rubber bands attached to the main axle. The pendulum gears down the axle and makes the movement of the modules and details smoother. The main axle is connected to the central pole via the planetary gear that ensures that it rotates in the direction opposite to the main platform. The roof is also attached to the main axle and crankshafts that make the horses go up and down while spinning around the central pole.

It is great fun to observe the model in motion, but if you are one of those people who like to see with their hands, you can rotate the Carousel manually. This will allow you to examine every detail in slow motion and give you a full comprehension of how the mechanism works.

Carroll Shelby, a former race car driver and automotive designer, was hired by the Ford Motor Co. to develop a high performance racer able to compete with the dominant Italian race team of Ferrari. The Americans' four consecutive victories at the prestigious Le Mans 24-hour race between 1966-69, in Ford GT40s, is the stuff of legend. More recently, it was the subject of the Oscar-winning 2019 film, "Ford v Ferrari," starring Matt Damon as Shelby and Christian Bale as Ken Miles, the ace driver for the 1966 Ford team. The success of the cars coming out of Shelby's surfside Venice, California shop were the crest of a wave of American high performance supercars or muscle cars, characterized by powerful V8 motors placed into relatively lightweight, mass-produced, rear-wheel drive chassis. The Shelby Cobra stands out as an American icon, perhaps the greatest muscle car and most "posterized" car in history.

Designed for drag racing but street legal, muscle cars offer incredible automotive power at a relatively affordable price point. The scarcity and unbelievable auction prices today of some of these classic street beasts is due in no small part to the fact that they were often more car than their owners could handle, resulting in frequent crashes. Muscle cars have squared off in many an illegal street race, sometimes with ownership papers on the line (another way to lose your muscle car!). In that spirit, why not convene a gathering of model building friends, show off your newly-built Ugears Drift Cobra Racing Cars, put your car modelling prowess to the test and race for pinks! Driven by a powerful spring motor, the Ugears Drift Cobra racing car has the fastest team of horses under the hood of any mechanical wooden model we know. The model is wound by means of a ratchet knob under the chassis. Before winding your 3-D wooden Drift Cobra model racing car, move the air filter that protrudes from the hood toward the windshield, and flip the switch in front of the passenger-side seat into the Lock position (parallel to the door). Now twist the ratchet underneath the car's body. After 6 to 6.5 turns of the knob the spring is fully loaded, and — vroom! vroom! — your racer is ready to roar! Set the gear shift lever, located between the driver and passenger seats, to the desired position (Reverse, Neutral, Drive). To start the model, set it down on a flat surface, slide the air filter forward, and watch your Cobra lay rubber in a spin out (start with the wheels turned to one side), do circles, or speed down the track in a straight line.

We think this 3D puzzle / DIY model is a beaut, with its fat tires, bulging curves (thanks to pieces that are precision laser-cut into fine 1mm plywood), a big open mouth up front, and open-air convertible design. This wooden car's moving parts include turning front wheels, doors that open, and a hood and trunk that can be raised. Instead of a rubber band motor we've used a powerful spring mechanism to provide the "muscle" in this racer and extend the model's usable life. The ratchet mechanism means you don't have to hold the knob the entire time you're winding the model—potential energy is stored with each twist, without slippage, until the strong internal spring is fully loaded.

To put the model in "drift mode," turn the front wheels fully to one side or the other, set it down on a smooth surface such as tile, and watch as the model peels out in a sideways skid (ideally, your model should make a half to a full revolution before continuing forward, depending on the driving surface and turn angle of the wheels). When the wheels are set in their straight position, the model covers a lot of ground—8 meters or more! Set the wheels in a gentler turn, or put the racer down on a less slippery surface, and watch your Drift Cobra complete two or three full circles.

What do they say about a finely-tuned motor—it runs like clockwork? Flip the script with the Ugears Engine Clock, a finely-tuned clock that runs (and looks) like a motor! This functional mechanical table clock with pendulum has an automotive theme throughout, with an engine block design on top with moving pistons, and time display in the style of a speedometer (hours) and tachometer (minutes). The action of the clock's pendulum and escapement make a delightful ticking sound, as the passing seconds are displayed on the escapement at the rear of the clock. The Engine Clock tells time for up to 5 hours on a single winding (running time can be extended an additional 60 to 90 minutes if the pistons are disengaged). A retrograde mechanism on the minute hand automatically resets after 60 minutes.

Wind your Engine Clock using the ignition key at the front of the clock. To set the time, turn the large gear closest to the face of the clock (the retrograde mechanism) in a clockwise direction until the minute hand falls to zero, then use your finger to move the hour hand counterclockwise, positioning it at the current hour. Set the minute hand at the current time by again turning the large gear just behind the clockface. If the clock is running fast or slow you can make adjustments to the pendulum. Raise or lower the circular weight at the bottom of the pendulum for larger time adjustments, and raise or lower the ball at the top the pendulum for fine-tuning.

The Globus is a stylised model of Earth with two sets of decorative continents, a rotating mechanism, and curious little extras that make the model even more interesting. The main module of the model is comprised of two parts: the globe and the platform with the mechanism. The sphere of the globe sits on an axle inclined along the same angle as the axis of the Earth. Like most Ugears models, the Globus is animated by means of a rubber-band motor. However, in this case, the motor uses a different type of winding method. A lever in the base pulled once clock-wise all the way will fully wind-up the mechanism. As soon as the lever is released, the gears begin their work. To slow down the spinning of the Earth sphere, the Globus employs a pendulum reduction mechanism. But if you want it to rotate even slower, you can manually turn the Globus and watch the continents float slowly by.
In addition to the main module, the model comes with two interchangeable extra-modules: the Shuttle and the Sputnik. Choose, which satellite you want to circle your Globus today, and set it on special support. The satellites are also powered by the rubber-band motor and connect to the main module via the planetary gearing. Due to this connection, the satellites rotate almost twice as fast as the globe and make almost two full spins in one pull of a winding lever.
