Statues
Collectible statues spanning all licenses and manufacturers. Over 1,300 pieces ranging from €50 prize figures to €2,000 museum-quality sculptures. This collection covers everything—Marvel, DC, Star Wars, anime, horror, gaming. If it's a fixed-pose display piece designed for adult collectors, it's probably here.
Statues differ from action figures through lack of articulation. No moving parts, no posing. What you see in product photos is what you get. The advantage is sculpting quality—without joints interrupting the form, sculptors achieve detail and poses that articulated figures can't match.
Manufacturer Tiers
Prize figures (€30-60) from Banpresto, SEGA, Furyu—these are budget-friendly, simplified sculpts meant for crane games originally. Quality is decent for the price but expect visible seams and simpler paint.
Mid-tier (€80-200) includes Kotobukiya ArtFX, Good Smile scales, Diamond Select. Solid quality, good paint applications, reasonable prices. This tier satisfies most collectors without requiring second mortgages.
Premium tier (€300-2000+) brings Sideshow, Prime 1 Studio, Iron Studios' high-end lines. Museum-quality pieces with extreme detail, large scales (1/4, 1/3), elaborate bases. These are investment pieces that appreciate in value if you pick right.
Scale Guide
1/8 and 1/7 scale are most common for anime and gaming statues. These run 20-25cm typically. Affordable, displayable, detailed enough to satisfy.
1/6 and 1/4 scale dominate Western licenses (Marvel, DC, Star Wars). 1/6 runs 30cm+, 1/4 hits 50cm+. These command space and attention. Display cases become necessary.
1/3 scale exists for those with money and space. Prime 1 Studio specializes here. These are 70cm+ behemoths that cost €1,500-2,500. They're ridiculous and impressive in equal measure.
Display Considerations
Statues need stable surfaces. Larger pieces are heavy—a 1/4 scale can weigh 10+ kg. Bases vary from simple pegs to elaborate dioramas. Some statues connect to others from the same series, building larger scenes.
Dust is the enemy. Glass display cases protect but cost money and space. Regular cleaning with soft brushes maintains appearance. Direct sunlight fades paint over time—keep that in mind for placement.
FAQs
What's the difference between a statue and a figure?
Statues are fixed-pose with no articulation. Figures have joints and moving parts. Both are collectibles, different display philosophies.
Do statues increase in value?
Limited editions from premium manufacturers often appreciate. Popular characters in small production runs climb in secondary market pricing. Mass-produced statues usually stay near retail.
Why are some statues so expensive?
Size, detail, limited production, licensing fees. A 1/4 scale Iron Studios piece requires extensive sculpting, complex paint, and limited run manufacturing. Premium quality costs premium prices.
Can I display statues out of box?
Yes. Most collectors prefer out-of-box display to appreciate full detail. Keep boxes for protection during moves or potential resale.
